The most common type of cross processing is developing <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reversal_film\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Reversal film\">slide film<\/a> as colour <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Negative_%28photography%29\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Negative (photography)\">negative film<\/a>. Normal slide film is processing is called E6 and normal colour negative film processing is called <a class=\"zem_slink\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/C41\" rel=\"wikipedia\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"C41\">c41<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/metrix_feet\/sets\/72157623746486530\/show\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">slide show of some of my slide film cross-processed in c41.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also here is my blog posting exposing some of the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.metrix-x.com\/2009\/11\/cross-processing-myths-rip.html\" target=\"_blank\">myths of cross-processing<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>\nNow days there are plenty of actions that try to duplicate the &#8220;Cross-processed&#8221; look. But it turns out much of what we consider the cross processing look and feel<br \/>\n is as a result of a lab scan as opposed to a printed photograph. Mini lab scanners when scanning cross processed film as a<br \/>\nnormal c41 assumes a nonexistent orange base plus a normal<br \/>\n colour channel gamma.<\/p>\n<p>I am interested in duplicating the look of cross processing by back engineering a normal image back to a faux cross processed negative.
